Ben Lawrence Runs the Marathon

On April 13th 2008 Ben took part in the 100th London marathon in aid of the RNID (Royal National Institute for the deaf) and successfully raised over £2000.

Ben said “It was one of my life long ambitions to run the marathon and being able to raise money for charity at the same time, made it all the more rewarding.  Inorder to run for the charity I needed to raise a minimum of £1500 and Your World kindly donated £500, which was a great help.  It was quite grueling in places and we experienced all different types of weather including hail and torrential rain.  I was really tired with about four miles to go and found that part particularly tough, although as I came up the mall I managed something of a sprint finish on legs that felt like jelly.  I was a little disappointed with my time, as I was aiming for under four hours, so I may just have another go in the future, but for now I will be happy just to let my legs recover”
